Euphoria's Palash Sen wears his mother's mangalsutra. He says his mother didn't wear it after his father's death. So, since he is married he wore it.
It was in 1998, that a group of medical students came together to form a rock band - Euphoria - and gave us some iconic nostalgia-inducing songs like Maeri, Dhoom Pichak Dhoom, and Gully that bring a smile to our faces even today.

The band, fronted by Palash Sen, has made many unconventional choices. They were the pioneers of rock music in Hindi. They could have easily made a career in Bollywood, but they chose to stay away from it. Among the other out-of-the-ordinary things they have accomplished is this one that will touch your heart!

If you go through Palash Sen's photos on social media, you will spot him with a mangalsutra around his neck. He once revealed to a fan why he wears it, and the reason will make your hearts melt.

Replying to a fan, Palash Sen wrote, "It is my mom's (mangalsutra)... she didn¡¯t wear it after my Papa passed away... so I wore it... and because I am married it is apt. No harm in men also wearing these symbols of marriage."
Wondering why Sen doesn't make music for Bollywood? He once said, "I had no interest in doing jee hazoori of the big wigs from the film industry".
He says he is an artiste who wanted to make good music. He never ran after money and fame.
"I always wrote and made songs that I wanted to make. I told the stories that I wanted to tell. I can proudly say that we have always made honest music that touched the lives of people. Staying away from the industry and its trappings got me closer to the people. And the people have sustained us to this day. Sadly, our country does not have a music industry. We have a film industry of which music is a part. I have never chased fame and money. I have never craved for glamour. I was always happy being the frontman and leader of a band," he told Times Now Digital.
He had once taken a dig at the hypocrisy and monopoly of Bollywood/ film music in India. He said that it's driven by money, and hence, Indipop music is dying in India gradually.
