'Broke Down Seeing The Trailer', Sagarika Who Inspired Rani Mukerji's Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway
Rani Mukerji¡¯s film Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway is all set to hit cinemas on March 17, 2023.
Rani Mukherji is back with a bang with another interesting character onscreen. The actress is all set to stir people's emotions by portraying a mother who fights with authorities to bring back her children from foster care.
Rani Mukherji's upcoming movie Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway is a heart-rendering, emotionally-loaded project that shares the story of an immigrant Indian mother Devika Chatterjee, who lives with her husband and her two kids in Norway until things take an ugly turn.
The trailer of the film was released by the makers on February 23, 2023. People not only lauded Rani's performance in the film, but also hailed the plot. Now, Sagarika, whose life has inspired the film has opened up about her experience watching the trailer of Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway.
Speaking of her feelings, Sagarika was quoted saying by ETimes, "It¡¯s hard to put into words how it feels seeing my story being told. Watching the trailer, I felt like I was reliving my battle. I believe it is important for people to know this story and to see how immigrant mothers/parents are treated even today, as is evident from the tragic story in Germany. I¡¯ve been in touch with Ariha Shah¡¯s mother Dhara, whose little girl has been taken away. I implore you all to stand by her, just as I do. My support is unconditional, from one mother to another.¡±

"I want to thank Rani Mukerji for channeling the grief and struggles that I went through to win back my children. She is a mother herself and I thank her for bringing a mother¡¯s painful journey on screen with so much dignity that I broke down while seeing her in the trailer," she said.
Interestingly, after the trailer launch of Rani Mukherji's film Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway trailer, #BoycottGermany started to trend on Twitter in support of an Indian parent whose infant was taken away by the German Child Protective Services similar to that shown in Ashima Chibber's directorial.
