Siddharth took to Twitter to reveal the fact that he has been receiving online threats for his tweets against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
He said that the threats have been sent to him for his loved ones as well. He alleged that threats came from Twitter handles that are followed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"I'm getting tweet threats for me and my loved ones to be fixed, arrested etc. from several handles that are followed by PM @narendramodi. We are trying to speak our minds in a free country. Ugly words and draconian laws will not choke voices of dissent. We will prevail! Jai Hind," he wrote.

On Tuesday, Siddharth had posted in favour of the protests. He also questioned why government was against peaceful protests and urged people to "fight for what is right."
First they will filter Muslims, then Christians, then other religions, then they will corner the oppressed castes and slyly go after the rights of women. They will always find a way to divide. They will always find a way to hate. This is their way. Say no to fascism! Save #India.

And look how many people are talking about the economy. Distraction. Deception. Denial. These are the tools of fascists. Beware. Stand against fascism. Fight for what is right! #India

All this tyranny is being done in our name, the majority, #Hindus. Be a good, proud Hindu. Don't let them do this in our name. They don't speak for us. They only speak for their divisive agenda. We're not threatened by minorities. We know our history. Stand up. Say no to fascism.

What have we been reduced to? A dictatorship?
The people are protesting for plurality and against prejudice. This is not the way to silence their voices. #CAA #NRC #Bengaluru https://t.co/e98q478t4S
Banning protest and shutting off internet is the modus operandi of an arrogant coward. Arrogance to do your will despite reason and protest... Cowardice in shutting down dissent...No difference between Indira's emergency and this systemic subjugation! Stay strong India. #CAA_NRC
