'Sick & Dangerous', Sona Mohapatra Condemns Protests Against Ranbir-Alia Outside Ujjain Temple
Sona Mohapatra has dubbed the protests against Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt outside Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain as 'sick & dangerous.'
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt recently visited Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar temple to take blessings ahead of their film Brahmastra's release on September 9.
However, the couple, who is soon going to embrace parenthood was stopped from entering the temple by Bajrang Dal activists due to Ranbir Kapoor's old ¡®beef guy¡¯ remark. Reports reveal that members of the Bajrang Dal chanted Jai Shriram slogans as the actors arrived at the temple.
Now, singer Sona Mohapatra has reacted to the incident as a video of people holding black flags and protesting against Brahmastra actor Ranbir Kapoor has gone viral on the internet.
Sharing the video on her social media handle, Sona condemned the protests outside the Ujjain temple and tweeted, ¡°This is just so so So wrong #India. Let¡¯s not descend into Ochlocracy; #MobRule. Sick & dangerous precedent to set & nothing heroic in any remote way."

Ranbir Kapoor and his wife Alia Bhatt were also accompanied by Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji. Due to the ruckus outside the temple premises in Madhya Pradesh, the celebrity couple and the director was forced to return.
Moreover, reports suggest that the Police have taken action under IPC (Indian Penal Code) section 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) against an activist of the right-wing following the protests.
A day after the unpleasant incident took place at the Ujjain temple, director Ayan Mukerji opened up about how he felt bad about people protesting against them as he wanted to visit the temple with actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
¡°I had gone to Mahakaleshwar temple before my motion poster released. And, I had told myself that I would definitely come here before the release of my film. And, both Ranbir and Alia were keen to come with me. But, when we reached there and heard about this, I felt bad about what happened there. And, then I told Ranbir and Alia to let me go alone. I went there to seek blessings and energy for the film,¡± Ayan Mukerji said.
On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra has claimed that nobody stopped Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt from visiting the Mahakal temple and that it was the actors¡¯ call to not do the Darshan.

¡°I have talked with the administration. They informed me that arrangement was made for their visit. But they decided to not proceed. Protest, be it on any issue, is a different subject. They were not stopped from darshan. Those who accompanied them went inside the temple. Also, an artist should not use words which hurt the sentiments of people," the state home minister said.
