'RRR Is Not A Bollywood Film', Director SS Rajamouli Voices After Film¡¯s Screening In America
RRR director SS Rajamouli at a US event disassociates his film from Bollywood and says that he comes with a Telugu film from India's down south.
The country is currently celebrating the Golden Globe win of RRR. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the Telugu lingual film starred Jr NTR and Ram Charan as leads. Recently, RRR was screened in the US where while speaking with the Directors Guild of America, SS Rajamouli was seen disassociating the film from Bollywood.

Quoting that he wants the audience's three hours to feel like a smooth ride, SS Rajamouli shared his thoughts.
He told as quoted by Republic TV, "RRR is not a Bollywood film, it is a Telugu film from the south of India where I come from, but I use the song to move the story forward rather than stopping the film and giving you a piece of music and dance. I just use those elements to move the story forward."

¡°If at the end of the film, if you say I didn't feel it like three hours, then I know I am a successful filmmaker," he added. For the unversed, the Naatu Naatu song of RRR won the Golden Globe Award 2023 for Best Original Song. The film is currently running to score a nomination at the 95th Academy Awards (Oscars).

Jr NTR feels Japan¡¯s audiences expressed their love for RRR more than India could.
NTR in an interview with GoldDerby expressed, ¡°Before we came here to see what the reaction of the West was, we were in the deep East. This movie collected 500 million Yen in Japan, it is no joke. I was there in Japan witnessing people crying. I felt they have expressed their love for RRR as audiences more than India could.¡±

¡°Afterwards, we thought maybe the West talking about it (RRR) on social media?€? we thought you know we have our Indian crowds back there, maybe someone¡¯s friend would have gone to the movie?€? maybe it was just one or two people, but no it was not one or two, it did not stop. It started increasing, multiplying and multiplying and then we were like, you know what, I think it¡¯s for real,¡± he added.

Jr NTR quoted the award-winning song Naatu Naatu ¡®a movie, a story in itself¡¯.
He said, ¡°I have done songs in my career that have more complicated steps than what ¡®Naatu Naatu¡¯ has. ¡®Naatu Naatu¡¯ is not about the complication of the step itself. It is synchronisation. The world went berserk seeing that synchronisation. ¡®Naatu Naatu¡¯ is not just a song. It is a movie, a story by itself.¡±
