Vicky Kaushal And Katrina Kaif Hadn't Seen Each Other's Outfits Until Wedding Day: Sabyasachi
Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif didn't see each other's outfits until the wedding day, reveals designer Sabyasachi. However, they were still in sync with their visions.
It is said that it is bad luck for the groom to see the bride in her wedding dress before the wedding ceremony. Of course, butterflies in the stomach and an out of the world feeling altogether when the bride and groom finally look at each other all decked up in their wedding outfits.
Taking this a notch higher, Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif didn't see each other's outfits until the wedding day, reveals designer Sabyasachi.
"The bride and groom didn¡¯t see what the other was wearing until the day of the wedding, so it was beautiful to witness how in sync their visions were even as we worked on their ensembles, separately," he told Vogue India.
He added, "Katrina is methodical and meticulous, and that made it easy for me to interpret their vision through my aesthetic."
Katrina Kaif wore a classic Sabyasachi red bridal lehenga in handwoven matka silk with fine tilla work and meticulously embroidered revival zardozi borders in velvet.
She paid homage to the Vicky Kaushal's Punjabi roots via her veil which was custom-trimmed with handmade kiran in hand-beaten silver electroplated in gold.
The lehenga was paired with bespoke bridal jewellery of uncut diamonds in 22k gold detailed with hand-strung pearls from Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery.
Vicky Kaushal wore an ivory silk Sherwani with intricate marori embroidery and iconic Sabyasachi handcrafted gold plated Bengal Tiger buttons, with a silk kurta and churidar. The shawl was a tussar georgette with a zari marori embroidered pallu and borders.
Just like their outfits, Vicky and Katrina had kept their relationship under the wraps until their wedding. They tied the knot on Dec 9 at the Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan.
