Released theatrically on 14th February this year, the film is now inching closer to the Rs 650 crore mark and is not stopping anytime soon. According to Sacnilk, Chhaava earned Rs 8.5 crore on Day 18 (March 3rd), about a 65% drop from its previous day¡¯s collections, which was Rs 24.25 crore. The India net of film currently stands at Rs 467.25 crore and domestic gross is at Rs 556.65 crore. With an overseas total of Rs 78.35 crore, Chhaava¡¯s worldwide total stands at Rs 635 crore.
Rashmika Mandanna faces backlash for tweaking her roots
Recently, during promotions of Chhaava, Rashmika was heard claiming that she is from Hyderabad, which stirred massive uproar among Kannadigas. Karnataka Congress MLA Ravi Ganiga criticized the actress saying that she should be taught a lesson for disregarding the industry which kickstarted her career.
Addressing the media at Vidhana Soudha, Ravi Ganiga said, ¡°Rashmika, who started her career with the Kannada movie Kirik Party, refused to attend the International Film Festival held in Bangalore last year when we invited her. Rashmika said she didn¡¯t know where Karnataka was. One of our legislators' friends met her nearly 10 to 12 times and invited her. But she refused and even disregarded Kannada despite starting her career here. Shouldn¡¯t we teach them a lesson?¡±
However, a source close to Rashmika informed Indiatimes, ¡°The said news reports are completely false and do not have any element of truth. The statements attributed to Rashmika Mandanna and the entire story about someone approaching her and she refusing to attend the Bengaluru film festival are incorrect.¡±
