From Yeh chori badi drama queen hai to Kar gayi chull, Sidharth Malhotra has played many roles on screen, but now he is stepping into a new one, fatherhood. Just before welcoming his first child, he shared his thoughts on parenting, masculinity, and values in a conversation with Lilly Singh.
On February 28, Sidharth and Kiara Advani announced on social media that they are expecting their first child. Soon after, an interview with Sidharth surfaced, where he spoke about how he wants to raise children, especially boys, in today¡¯s world.
Teaching boys the right values
In the interview, Sidharth said that he believes that being a father comes with an important duty, to raise children with strong values. He emphasized that a person is born male, but becoming a man is a choice. For him, true masculinity is about responsibility, kindness, and emotional awareness.
He shared that when he becomes a father, he wants to make sure his child, whether a boy or a girl, grows up with the right ethics. Being sensitive and kind is just as important as being strong.
Sidharth also spoke about how parents play a key role in shaping their children¡¯s perspectives. What they teach, both through words and actions, affects how children see the world, relationships, and themselves.
Talking about emotions, Sidharth admitted that he wasn¡¯t always comfortable expressing vulnerability. Growing up, he often felt that struggles were something to deal with alone. He had an introverted personality, which made it harder for him to share his feelings.
However, over time, he realized that bottling up emotions wasn¡¯t the solution. Today, as a husband, he openly discusses his fears and vulnerabilities with Kiara. He believes that men should not shy away from expressing emotions, as it helps strengthen relationships.
