Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem recently revealed that Hollywood is fighting off the battle quite successfully. They received equal paycheques for their forthcoming film Everybody Knows which was also premiered at the Cannes 2018.

Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem recently revealed that Hollywood is fighting off the battle quite successfully. They received equal paycheques for their forthcoming film Everybody Knows, which was also premiered at the Cannes 2018. It is there that the couple spoke about the pay disparity.
When asked if they received equal paycheques, the Oscar-winning actress smiled and said, ¡°Actually, yes.¡±
Furthermore, she talked how it is to be working with her real-life partner. ¡°We don't take the characters home at the end of the day. We have similar ways of work. The fact that we know each other and trust each other helps," Cruz said.

And she also revealed how her approach towards the characters she plays on-screen have changed over the years.
¡°When I was in my 20s, I thought the more I would torture myself and the more I would stay in character for months, the better the result would be. I learned it's not really related to that. I have a life and I have a job. That allows me to jump from reality to fiction,¡± said the 44-year-old.
