Johnny Depp's ugly defamation trial (2022) against former wife Amber Heard was in the headlines for many reasons, but what had everyone taking the front seat was his camaraderie with his lawyer, Camille Vasquez. The duo's exceptional chemistry, as seen in viral videos and photos back then, in the courtroom even fuelled their dating rumours. Almost two years after powering Depp through victory, Camille has finally responded to all those romance talks and revealed why she never dated the Hollywood star.
Camille Vasquez responds to dating rumours with Johnny Depp
Camille Vasquez is setting the Johnny Depp dating rumours straight. In an interview with Extra TV, Camille revealed that she has never dated Johnny nor would she ever be in a relationship with him. She also admitted to never watching any of his movies except the 2000 film Chocolat. "To this day have never seen Pirates," she added.
Speaking about meeting the Hollywood heartthrob for the first time, she said, "I know, breaking news. After maybe 30-40 minutes of speaking with him, I remember having an out-of-body experience looking at him, thinking he views the world so differently than I do. He uses different parts of his brain. He's an artist."
Why Camille would never date Johnny Depp?
When asked who was the first person who told her about her Johnny Depp dating rumours, she laughed before saying, "Probably my parents." She added that she would have never dated the actor because he's just not her 'type'. "I think my parents called. They knew definitively that I wasn't dating Johnny Depp. Let me just go on the record here. Never dated Johnny Depp, never would date Johnny Depp. I think he¡¯s a lovely person, just¡ªhe¡¯s not my type. That¡¯s okay," she added.
She revealed that she is still keeping in touch with Johnny, and interacts with him via texts in the group chat for his legal team.
Johnny Depp's defamation trial
Johnny Depp's highly-publicised defamation trial against Amber Heard went from April 11 to June 1, 2022. Depp sued Heard for $50 million in damages over an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in December 2018, where she accused Depp of physically assaulting her and called herself a domestic violence survivor. Although Depp wasn't explicitly mentioned, his lawyers argued that the article implied he was the abuser, damaging his reputation and costing him professional setbacks.
