It continued to attract the audience on Tuesday, its 17th day. According to Sacnilk, a trade website, the action comedy netted Rs 38 lakh in India yesterday. This is slightly lower than the Rs 40 lakh it made on January 27. Its total collection stands at nearly Rs 45 crore.

Madha Gaja Raja received positive reviews with critics praising the performances. The healthy word-of-mouth helped it overpower Vanangaan and Kadhalikka Neramillai at the box office. It also benefitted from the dull response to Game Changer in Tamil Nadu.
