The Struggle To Get Work And Stay Relevant Never Stops For An Actor, Says Kartik Aaryan
Kartik Aaryan will now be seen in an intense avatar in a thrilling new film Dhamaka directed by Ram Madhvani. Kartik has gained massive popularity for films like Lukka Chupi Pati Patni Aur Woh and Love Aaj Kal 2.
In less than a decade of being in the film business, Kartik Aaryan's success has proved that despite the industry being nepotistic, hard work can take you places.
Fondly known as the 'Punchnama guy', Aaryan will now be seen in an intense avatar in a thrilling new film 'Dhamaka', directed by Ram Madhvani.
Kartik has gained massive popularity for films like Lukka Chupi, Pati Patni Aur Woh and Love Aaj Kal 2.
With 'Dhamaka', the actor is set to embark on a different journey, which is nothing like before.
In an interaction with Indiatimes, we asked Kartik, what compelled him to take up Ram Madhvani's Dhamaka, he said,
¡°I wanted to work with Ram Madhvani. I enjoyed doing that. I am glad he directed me, he gave me an insight to his world. I have enjoyed the whole process. The first compelling point was Ram Madhvani Sir, and it¡¯s something different and unique for me. Characters have shades of grey, positive, negative, exhaustion, 96 minutes of the film- there are all emotions, all ¡®Ras¡¯."
Kartik¡¯s journey hasn¡¯t been linear. After four years' struggle, he bagged ¡®Pyaar Ka Punchnama¡¯, where he gained the title of ¡®Monologue guy¡¯. Also, a film that changed his life.
It¡¯s safe to say, Kartik is a hero made by his fans. While he took another few years for a project like ¡®Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety¡¯ to come his way, but the film was definitely worth the wait.
Talking about the tag ¡®fan-made star', Aaryan said,
¡°I proudly call myself a fan-made hero because of the love I have received in all these years. I hope the love I receive from fans keeps on increasing. I enjoy attention from my fans and love and crave for it.¡±
We asked if the love and adulation he receives from his fans make him think if he has ¡®finally made it¡¯ or arrived¡¯.
Reacting to the cliche phrase that actors are associated with, Aaryan said,
"The term ¡®arrived¡¯ is very relative because you¡¯d never know you have arrived. There would be a change of goal, aims. When you get the first movie, there is a chase to get another one. You never stop. From getting movies to sustenance, how will people know my name? You hope for one blockbuster and then think what could be the next film. You're always worrying and striving to do better."
The film industry is uncertain and dynamic. Things change every day, and for actors, it sometimes gets tougher.
Talking about what keeps him on his toes and how he never takes a day for granted, Kartik says,
¡°The uncertainty of not knowing what¡¯s going to happen next is scary. What¡¯s going to happen next- it¡¯s like a unit test, an exam. There could be a day when you wake up and think, what if you fail. But that¡¯s also the beauty of it. You always crave and hope-your films, interviews, everything you¡¯re doing in this field- it¡¯s a test, and it¡¯s thrilling. I enjoy doing that. ¡°
