GV Prakash Kumar is in the limelight because of his latest film Kingston, which hit the screens yesterday. According to Sacnilk, a trade website, it earned merely Rs 90 lakh in India on the first day. This is a disappointing figure given the fact that it has been shot on a budget of Rs 20 crore.

Kingston faced competition from Dragon. The comedy drama earned Rs 2.05 crore yesterday. Jiiva¡¯s Aghatiyaa, which released last week, too suffered a similar fate. Kingston received mixed reviews with critics praising the performances but panning the writing. The average word-of-mouth is likely to affect its prospects in the long run.
