Thandel, starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, is set to hit the screens on Friday (February 7) much to the delight of movie buffs. The Telugu language action thriller has created a fair deal of buzz in the industry because of its intense trailer. The film went on the floors in December 2023. Major portions of Thandel were shot in and around Vizag, Srikakulam, and Udupi. The filming was wrapped in June last year. It has been shot on a budget of Rs 75 crore.

Thandel plot
Thandel revolves around the hardships faced by fishermen from Srikakulam, a city in Andhra Pradesh, when they inadvertently drifted into Pakistani waters. The plot examines themes such as courage, revenge, and love for one's motherland.
Romance too is set to be an integral part of Thandel. The trailer also suggests that the film will feature intense fight scenes and lavishly shot song sequences.
Thandel cast and crew
Thandel features Naga Chaitanya in the lead and is his first release of the year. Chay, the legendary ANR's grandson, is an established name in Telugu cinema. His best-known films include Manam, Oka Laila Kosam, and Majili.
He is paired with Sai Pallavi in Thandel. The two previously teamed up for Love Story, which did well at the box office. Sai Pallavi rose to fame in Tollywood with Fidaa, which featured her alongside 'Mega Prince' Varun Tej. She has also impressed fans with her work in films such as Gargi, Shyam Singha Roy, and the Sivakarthikeyan-led Amaran. The cast of Thandel includes Prakash Belawadi, Rao Ramesh, and Karunakaran. The Chandoo Mondeti-directed film's music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Shamdat Sainudeen serves as the cinematographer.
