Guzzle down plenty of water. However, if your mode of conveyance won¡¯t allow you to visit a rest room every hour or so, we suggest you tank up on water the night before. This will keep health ailments such as constipation and dehydration at bay.
Alcohol. When the air hostess asks you if you want a glass of wine, try to resist the urge. But if you must consume it, then make sure you drink one extra cup of water for each drink, as this will help you avoid dehydration. Eat a healthy meal packed with loads of steamed veggies one night before you plan to leave. An ideal trip is where no family member falls sick ¨C in between or right after the trip. Carry healthy munchies along with you. Carry sandwiches made of low fat mayo or prepare homemade energy bars. However, if you are somebody who loves eating street food, then prepare healthy street food at home.
In order to make sure that your body isn¡¯t devoid of healthy oils, do make it a point to pack some healthy nuts and seeds with you. They can last for days if packed neatly in airtight containers. Try and pack pumpkin seeds, walnuts, pistachios and almonds, among others. Don¡¯t forget to pack a handful of plums, apricots and raisins, and you're good to hit the road!
On vacation, if you plan to eat out at a restaurant, then we suggest you eat smartly. Go for grilled and steamed fish and other meats, instead of fried foods. When ordering salads, try and choose one which is made of fresh herb dressings as they are healthier when compared to the mayonnaise rich, cream-laden dressings.
