Gone are the days when people shied away from putting up their faces on social media. It¡¯s a generation of selfies and they've taken over our timelines.

Why does this happen?
According to the study, people feel negatively towards those who click a lot of selfies. They feel that such people reflect a certain sense of insecurity in their personality and that is why they¡¯re disliked by others.
But the question is that if one feels validated by something as small as clicking a picture of their own face and putting it up on their social media, how is it anyone else¡¯s problem? One¡¯s own insecurity is theirs to deal with and how they choose to do is no one¡¯s concern.
On top of it, insecurity is a grave issue in today¡¯s generation with body-shaming and all sorts of mockery being passed on by others 24/7. As much as social media is a boon to this generation, it also plays the villain at times and if someone feels that posting a selfie might help boost their confidence, there¡¯s no harm in it.
Judging others is exactly the kind of thing we need to filter out of our lives.
Celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian constantly receive flak for being ¡®self-obsessed¡¯ and ¡®insecure¡¯ about themselves just because they like clicking selfies. It¡¯s a choice they have the right to make.

Selfies make you feel in control.
Getting someone to click a picture of you takes away a lot of control. While clicking a selfie, you get to choose the angle of the photo, the lighting, your expressions, and if that is not a convenient thing, I don¡¯t know what is. Liking your own face is no crime and clicking it is definitely not a reflection of how insecure you are.
Dealing with haters
People don¡¯t think twice before anonymously passing comments on anyone on social media. Their exact purpose is to make you uncomfortable in your space and then call you out on your ¡®insecurity¡¯. But like they say, 'Ignorance is bliss,' so click away.
