Cow To Be Declared 'Mother Of The Nation' Before Kumbh 2025?
The sants want that the cow should be referred to as ¡®Rama¡¯, with ¡®Ra¡¯ standing for ¡®Rashtra¡¯ (nation) and ¡®Ma¡¯ for ¡®Mata¡¯ (mother).
The demand for granting the cow the status of 'Mother of the Nation' is gaining momentum in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in Prayagraj, where saints have proposed a symbolic renaming of the cow to 'Rama.' In this proposal, 'Ra' signifies 'Rashtra' (nation), and 'Ma' represents 'Mata' (mother).
This initiative was one of 21 proposals passed by the saints during the 'Gau Sansad' held at the Magh Mela camp of Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati in Prayagraj.
'Declare cow Rama'
The saints, unanimous in their decision, declared that they would henceforth address cows as 'Rama.'
In addition to the symbolic renaming, the saints put forth various proposals, including the establishment of a 'Rashtriya Rama Gau Bhakt Aayog.'
This body would identify and register cows through DNA testing, outlining a comprehensive protocol for their treatment starting from the Hindu New Year.
A separate cow ministry
The 'Gau Sansad' also called for the formation of a separate 'cow ministry,' advocating the exclusion of cows from the state list in the Constitution and their inclusion in the Central list. The saints emphasized the need for social ostracization of beef consumers and urged voters to support candidates pledging to prioritize cow protection and respect in their governance agendas.
Once the cow receives the esteemed title of 'Mother of the Nation,' the saints' first act would be to take the cow's milk to Ayodhya and offer it to Ram Lalla, according to the seers.
The saints have also appealed to the government to liberate encroached land, ensuring it is made available for cows to graze, emphasizing the importance of providing a conducive environment for the well-being of these revered animals.
The multifaceted proposals underscore the commitment of the sants community to elevate the status of cows and promote their welfare.
Cow is sacred in India
In India, the cow holds a sacred status deeply rooted in cultural, religious, and historical contexts, particularly within Hinduism. The veneration of cows is influenced by various religious texts, including the Vedas, where the cow is often associated with Aditi, the mother of all gods. In Hinduism, the cow is considered a symbol of non-violence, purity, and motherhood, and it plays a crucial role in various rituals and ceremonies.
The reverence for cows is reflected in the widespread belief that harming or killing a cow is a sacrilegious act. Many Hindus consider the cow as "Gau Mata" or the mother of the nation. This sacred status has led to the implementation of laws in certain Indian states that prohibit the slaughter of cows, and in some instances, the possession or consumption of beef.
