According to police, the thieves broke into the third gallery of the museum through a wooden ventilator on the first floor and used a rope to scale down the wall.
The cops also suspect that the robbers were well aware of the museum's layout and locations of CCTV, which they had twisted to avoid detection.

The artifacts belonged to the last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VII.
The tiffin box alone is said to be weighing two kilograms, and the cup, saucer, and spoon were studded with rubies, diamonds, and emeralds. The antiques could fetch up to Rs 50 crore at international auction.

The Hyderabad Police which has set up a 10-member team to probe the incident examined the CCTV visuals from the spot and found an unidentified man entering the museum through a wooden ventilator.
