PDP Leader Abdul Gani Dar Shot Dead By Suspected Militants In Kashmir's Pulwama District

Abdul Gani Dar, Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) district President for Pulwama, died after he was shot at by suspected terrorists earlier today. The shooting took place in South Kashmir's Pinglan area which falls under Pulwama district and he was rushed to a hospital in Srinagar where he was proclaimed dead.

"Gani was heading towards Srinagar when suspected terrorists opened fire on him between Pahoo and Pinglan villages,"a senior police official said.
"He was shifted to a SMHS hospital in Srinagar where he succumbed to bullet injuries," the official added.

According to the reports, Gani was shot in the chest. Before joining PDP on November 1, 2014, Dar has been associated with Congress party at various capacities.
