The misspelt versions of &lsquoMerry Christmas&rsquo are trending on Google search in India. The most searched keyword on Google yesterday was &lsqoMeri Christmas&RSquo Google isn't the only place where the spelling error showed up as the social media avenues like Facebook and Twitter also had people wishing other.
Christmas was celebrated across the world yesterday and India too celebrated it with much fervour. But the Google search shows that Indians are rather confused in the spelling of Merry and as a result, many searched for it on Google and those who did bother to google it, wished their loved ones 'Meri' Christmas or Even Marry Christmas.

Some of the messages were on purpose as many on twitter made a meme of ¡®Mery¡¯ which in Hindu means mine or my. Therefore, ¡®Meri Christmas¡¯ literally translates into ¡®My Christmas¡¯ and most saw it as a fun pun.
Many people wished other in person ¡®Mery Christmas¡¯ as it did sound fun to them and as long as people have a pure heart while wishing others.
