Cockpit shattered due to crash
The glider plane flew from Barwadda airstrip above Dhanbad city before it tumbled to ground level and crashed into a house 500 meters away due to a technical glitch.
Barwadda police station officer-in-charge Ashish Kumar Yadav said the joyride glider dropped on a building just after taking off from the Barwadda airstrip at around 4.50 pm, and it was captured on a camera lens.
The glider's cockpit was shattered by a concrete pillar of the house, as shown by the visuals of the accident site.
Residents of building had narrow escape
The plane reportedly fell at the property of Nilesh Kumar near Birsa Munda Park. However, no one from the building got any injuries. Kumar said his two children were playing at the spot but had a narrow escape.
Though initial examination suggests that a technical glitch caused the incident, the officials said the exact cause will be revealed only after a thorough probe.
Elaborating on the incident, ASI SK Mandal of Barwadda Police Station said, "Information was received at the police station that a glider crash had happened near Birsa Munda. Police teams have reached the spot and are stationed there. Two people were injured. And we're further checking."
Injured passenger was on way to uncle's home
Kush Singh, the injured passenger from Patna, was on his way to his maternal uncle Pawan Singh's home in Dhanbad.
