Hyderabad's Famous Bangaru Ganesh Laddu Auctioned For Rs 24.6 Lakh This Year

The Balapur Utsav Samithi was expected a bid of around Rs 20 lakh for the laddu this year, but it was eventually auctioned off for Rs 24.6 lakhs.
One Vangeti Lakshmareddy won the auction this year, at a price which more than Rs 5.7 lakhs from the previous year.
¡°I have been waiting for many years to win this laddu auction. It has finally come true this year because of the blessings of Lord Ganesha. I will distribute it among my friends and relatives,¡± Reddy said.

First auctioned for Rs 450
In 2021, the laddu was auctioned to YSRCP leader, RV Ramesh Reddy for 18.9 lakh, which was the highest bid for the Prasada till then.
In 2020, the laddu was handed over to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as the auction could not take place due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The first time the Golden laddu was put up for auction, it was sold for Rs 450.
The money generated through auctioning of laddu is being used for developmental activities in the Balapur area.
Ganesh festival in Hyderabad
The Telangana government had declared a general holiday on the account of Ganesh idol immersion, for government offices, schools, and colleges in and around the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts on September 9.
"On the account of Ganesh idol immersion, the government has decided a general holiday," an official statement said.
Ganesh Chaturthi celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha. It is one of the most popular Hindu festivals. It is celebrated for 10 days and it is believed that during this time Lord Ganesha arrives on earth with his mother, Goddess Parvati, and showers blessings on the people.
