Masked man goes to bank in UP with 'suicide note', flees with Rs 40 lakh cash

In a shocking case of bank robbery, an armed man allegedly stole Rs 40 lakhs at gunpoint from a private bank in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district. The incident happened at an Axis Bank branch at Dheemanpura in Shamli on Tuesday afternoon. According to reports, the man entered the bank pretending to be a customer and met the manager to discuss his outstanding loan.
Customer threatens to kill bank manager

The tone of the discussion changed suddenly after the 'customer' told Jain that he was carrying a gun and a suicide letter in his bag. The man then threatened to harm Jain or himself if the manager did not give him the money.
Fearing for his life, Jain sent his cashier, Rohit, to bring the cash, which he then handed over to the masked man. After getting the money, the accused fled on his bike.
Case registered
"He asked me to bring cash of Rs 40 lakh. He threatened to kill me if I failed to provide the cash," Jain told the police.
Based on Jain's complaint, the police have registered a case. Superintendent of Police Ram Sewvak Gautam said that they have collected the CCTV footage and are interrogating the bank staff.

'Guard's gun scared of pistol'
Reacting to the incident, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, in a post on X, said, "UP Crime News: Bank security guard's gun scared by miscreants' pistol! The video of the open robbery of 40 lakhs is true, and this is also the truth of law and order in UP under BJP rule."
