Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's Statue Smeared With Coal Tar In West Bengal On Independence Day
A statue of freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was partly damaged and smeared with coal tar in West Bengal¡¯s Birbhum district on Independence Day.

According to reports, the statue at BDO office was supposed to be unveiled at the Independence Day event in Panchra village.
But the miscreants who launched the attack at night, covered the face with tar and broke the statue's nose. When staff opened up the gate, they noticed the vandalism of the statue and informed authorities.
Angry villagers let by the panchayat pradhan filed a police complaint at the Khairasole police station against unknown persons for damaging the statue.
According to a senior police officer, "Investigation has been started to find out the miscreants and motive behind this crime", reports ANI.
