Why is this Noida Expressway New Rules Introduced?
DCP (Traffic) Lakhan Singh Yadav stated that nearly 5 lakh commuters use the Noida Expressway daily, connecting Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi. Frequent vehicle breakdowns lead to severe traffic congestion, especially during peak hours. To tackle this problem, the traffic police have introduced strict penalties under Section 201 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Noida Expressway New Rules: Who Will Be Fined?
The new rule primarily targets commercial vehicles. While private car owners do not have to worry for now, trucks, buses, and other commercial vehicles could face fines if they break down and obstruct traffic. Vehicles without valid pollution under control (PUC) certificates, or registration documents may also be penalized.
Also, overloaded vehicles and those exceeding the emission norms set by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) will be fined.

The new 'breakdown challan' rule is meant to improve traffic on the Noida Expressway by fining vehicles that block the road. Commercial vehicle owners should keep their documents updated and make sure their vehicles are in good condition to avoid heavy fines.
