Bone-chilling details have emerged suggesting that Intelligence Bureau (IB) official Ankit Sharma, who was murdered during the Delhi riots was brutally tortured before he was killed by the rioters.
The autopsy of Sharam suggests that he was brutally stabbed to death.
Sharma's body had ¡°multiple abrasion... deep cuts... by sharp edge objects¡± states the post-mortem report, according to IANS. The doctors who carried out the autopsy have said that the 26-year-old was stabbed multiple times, IANS further reported.
Sharma, whose body was found in a drain Khajuri Khas area near his house on Tuesday, had over 250 injuries, including deep stab wounds, apart from blunt force impact (assault), indicating that he was tortured and then thrown into the drain.
The family of Sharma who was working with the IB as a security assistant since 2017 has alleged that his body was thrown from the mosque into the drain.
The body was recovered from a sewer in Jafrabad on Wednesday.
His father Ravinder Kumar, had accused Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councilor Tahir Hussain of being behind the murder.
According to the family, Sharma was abducted and taken to a building owned by Hussain where he was tortured and killed.
The family of the deceased started searching for him as he didn¡¯t come back on 25th February. They visited the nearby police stations at Khajuri Khas, Dayalpur and later enquired about him in nearby hospitals. After searching for the whole night, Ankit¡¯s family filed a missing complaint with police on February 26, Ankit¡¯s father said in the complaint.
Based on the family's complaint an FIR has been registered against Hussain, who was also suspended from the AAP on Thursday.
According to the police, Hussain who has been booked under section 302 IPC (Punishment for murder) is absconding.
Earlier he had rejected any role in the murder or violence in the area, which police believe was being carried out from the rooftop of Hussain's house.
It was full of bricks, stones, sticks and petrol bombs suggesting that the rooftop was used as a launching pad for the attacks.
Hussain, however, claimed that he was not there at the time of the incident and had left the house the previous day after a mob tried to attack him and his family.
Earlier AAP Supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said that Hussain should be given double punishment if he is found guilty. "No one, be it any party, should be spared if they are responsible for inciting violence. Even if he is a part of my cabinet, he should be punished. If anyone from AAP is found guilty, they should get double the punishment."
