Passenger 'Secretly' Takes 'Obscene' Pictures Of Attendant On SpiceJet Flight, DCW Issues Notice
Taking suo-moto cognisance of a sexual harassment incident which reportedly happened on a SpiceJet flight, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) issued a notice to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the DCP of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Friday. The incident involved a passenger trying to click obscene pictures of the underskirt of a woman flight attendant and a fellow passenger.

The incident involved a passenger trying to click obscene pictures of the underskirt of a woman flight attendant and a fellow passenger.
Secretively took video of underpants, allegedly
In a video shared on Instagram, a fellow passenger talks about the incident.
The incident occurred on a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon, August 16, 2023.
She says that while the flight attendant was serving the man, she noticed him trying to take a video of her 'underpants secretively'.
When notified, the flight attendant allegedly said that she felt the man was taking pictures of her.
Upon checking his phone, it was found to contain objectionable pictures of women on board the flight, including a woman passenger.
The security personnel were subsequently informed, who then escorted the man out of the flight.
DCW seeks information
The DCW has sought the following information:
- Whether the matter has been referred to Internal Complaints Committee under the Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act or any other committee?
- Details of action taken against the said passenger
- Detailed action taken on the matter
The commission has given time till August 23 for a reply.
Urge women to speak up
Commenting on the post, a social media user said, "Thank you shaming him publicly. I would urge all women to speak up and stand tall for each other."
Another comment by a crew member thanked her for speaking up, saying, "Being a crew, I can tell if anything like this happens there is hardly anyone who comes forward to be a witness as nobody wants to get involved in any drama. Thank you so much for standing up."
