Soon, You Can Let Delhi Police Track Your Cab, Auto Rides Through QR Code For Security Purpose
Keeping in mind the increased security risks of commuters, in the National Capital Region, Delhi Police have come up with a plan to track your cab and auto rides.

Using the Delhi Police's Himmat mobile phone application, passengers can now share their location with the Control room so that they can track the ride and ensure that the passenger reaches their destination safely.
Cabs and autos in Delhi will soon get Quick Response or popularly known as QR codes, which can be scanned and share your ride inform the Delhi Police Control Room.

People who do not have a smartphone can simply send the code number by an SMS.
The QR code system which is already in place on some cabs in Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport will be extended to ten metro stations by December in the next phase.

¡°All the passenger has to do is scan the QR code after boarding the auto. The details will reach the control room and the GPS will start tracking the auto. During the ride, if the passenger feels something¡¯s wrong, he/she can press the SOS button and the nearest police control room will be pressed into action,¡± said Sanjay Bhatia, deputy commissioner of police at Delhi Airport.
