Viral video shows Kerala man reviving myna with CPR, bird soars again
In Kerala's Malappuram area, a person named Shajir saved a myna's life by performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on it.
People on the internet were recently uplifted by a heartwarming video of a myna bird being rescued in Kerala. In the video that has attracted significant attention, a man in the Malappuram area can be seen saving an unconscious bird.
Myna bird revived with CPR
The man, identified as Shajir, performed Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on the myna, eventually reviving it. The incident was reported by Tamil news outlet Thanthi TV, highlighting Shajir¡¯s compassionate act. According to the report, his quick thinking and effort enabled the bird to recover and fly away.
The video depicts Shajir pressing his thumbs on the bird¡¯s body to help regulate its breathing and heart rate. His persistent care soon resulted in the myna fluttering its wings and regaining consciousness. Shortly after, the bird flew away, much to the relief and joy of its rescuer.
Initially, Shajir was seen administering CPR to the bird. Following this, he gently carried the myna and placed it near a water-filled bucket. It appeared that he intended to give the bird some water and cool it down. However, the bird surprised him by taking flight as soon as he released it.
When a monkey was revived by CPR
This touching incident in Kerala follows a similar rescue last month. In Uttar Pradesh¡¯s Bulandshahr, a police officer saved a monkey using CPR. On 24 May, head constable Vikas Tomar of Chhatari police station noticed a monkey that had fallen unconscious due to extreme heat.

The Times of India reported that Tomar performed CPR on the monkey while his colleagues kept an agitated troupe of monkeys at bay. The video of this rescue was shared by news agency IANS, capturing the moment when the officer revived the lifeless monkey. The caption read, ¡°Watch: In the premises of a police station in Bulandshahr, a lifeless monkey, unconscious from the heat, by a police officer hours and gave water, saving its life.¡±
