A Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fan¡¯s unsuccessful attempt to steal a ball during an IPL 2024 match is going viral on social media. The man¡¯s attempt was thwarted, and he was caught by the cops, with his predicament captured on live video. The video shows the fan, wearing a ¡®Rinku¡¯ jersey, trying to pocket the ball after it landed near him following a hit by the cricketers.
However, a cop quickly intervened, confronted him, and made him hand over the ball. The man was then kicked out of the stadium. Sharing the video on X, a user named Mufaddal Vohra wrote, ¡°A fan tried to steal the match ball, but got caught.¡±

The video has garnered over 184K views, with social media users condemning the cop for his rude behavior. One user commented, ¡°But feeling sad for him so much rude behavior.¡± Another user wrote, ¡°He wanted to make memorable this match but the police man has broken his dream.¡±
In another viral video, SRK is seen getting out of his car amid rain and heading to the dressing room. He met the team¡¯s mentor Gautam Gambhir, captain Shreyas Iyer, batter Rinku Singh, Mitchell Starc, Harshit Rana, and Sunil Narine. The video also featured Juhi Chawla¡¯s husband Jay Mehta and their children, Jahnavi and Arjun.
Regarding the match between GT and KKR, the toss didn¡¯t happen at the scheduled time of 7 pm due to incessant lightning, followed by a drizzle that became heavier over time.
The cut-off time was 10:56 PM for a five-over contest, but officials decided to abandon the match, a first in this IPL, due to the consistently intensifying rain and wet outfield.

"It is a big achievement for us. The chat before the game (vs GT) was about not letting up, turning up with the right attitude. GG (Gautam Gambhir) has been pretty solid with how he wants us to play as a team. He stressed on us to come here and still look for two points," said Kolkata's opener Phil Salt as the teams waited for the rain to subside.
KKR has already secured their place in the play-offs after defeating Mumbai Indians in their previous fixture.
Rajasthan Royals are second in the standings with 16 points from 12 games, while defending champions Chennai Super Kings are placed third with 14 points from 13 matches.
Sunrisers Hyderabad are fourth with 14 points from 12 matches, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru are fifth with 12 points from 13 games.
With 12 points from as many games, Lucknow Super Giants are still in the play-off race, while Delhi Capitals are virtually out of the reckoning with 12 points from 13 matches.
