As the spotlight intensified on Pookie and Jett, scrutiny over their past escalated when TikTokers unearthed potentially problematic content involving the couple. Reddit users surfaced photos purportedly featuring Campbell posing in front of a Confederate flag, originally posted on a Facebook account attributed to her, which has since been removed.
Another image found on Pinterest depicted Campbell wearing a vintage-style gown with a voluminous skirt, leading many to interpret it as attire reminiscent of an "Old South" plantation-themed ball. This post was reportedly shared by Phi Mu, Campbell's former sorority at the University of Mississippi.
In response to the mounting criticism, Campbell took to Instagram to address the controversy directly. Taking full responsibility, she wrote, ¡°At the time these photos were taken, I was 20. I didn¡¯t fully understand the impact of my actions the way I do now, 12 years later.¡±
Adding on to that, Campbell also made a note of how their whole lives, which they indulge in publicly, were put up for scrutiny. ¡°Because we live our lives so publicly, everything is on the internet, even my mistakes.¡±
