Tesla asked to recall almost all Cybertrucks in US yet again, this time due to faulty exterior panel
According to NHTSA, Tesla is required to fix the faulty panel for customers free of charge. The agency noted that the exterior panel of the electric vehicle, which runs on the left and right sides of the windshield, was found to detach during driving, creating a hazard for other drivers on the road and increasing the risk of a crash.
Things are going from bad to worse for Elon Musk and Tesla as the electric vehicle manufacturer has been asked to recall almost all Cybertrucks currently operational in the US. The recall was issued by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for almost 46,000 Cybertrucks due to safety issues with an exterior panel next to its windshield.

Why Cybertrucks are being recalled

Tesla was reportedly aware of the problem since early this year, but it came to public attention only recently, with many Cybertruck owners posting videos on social media showing them ripping out the panel on the cars with just their hands.

Eighth Cybertruck recall in 15 months
While the mass recall order is bad news for Tesla, this is not the first time Cybertrucks, which began being delivered to customers in November 2023, are being recalled due to safety concerns.
In fact, this is the eighth time Tesla has been ordered to recall all its Cybertrucks due to various safety concerns in the past fifteen months.
Musk dodging agencies with DOGE?
Many critics have argued that Musk bought his way into Donald Trump's inner circle to dismantle agencies, including the NHTSA and FAA, which have pulled up his businesses, including Tesla and SpaceX, due to safety concerns.
Tesla faces heat of Musk's actions
The latest Cybertruck recall also comes at a time when Tesla cars, showrooms, and even charging infrastructure have become the targets of anti-Musk protests not just in the US but around the world.
