Man pretending to be Vivek Ramaswamy goes to Trump rally, poses for selfies with Republican leaders, celebrities
The YouTuber, who goes by the name Dohaa the Explorer, said he came up with the idea after receiving several comments on his previous videos that he looked like Ramaswamy. To test this for himself, he flew to Montana for a Trump rally in Bozeman, wearing a suit that resembled Ramaswamy's outfit.
Until earlier this year, Indian-origin billionaire businessman and politician Vivek Ramaswamy was among the frontrunners to be the Republican nominee for the US Presidential Elections, scheduled for November. Though he eventually dropped out and endorsed Donald Trump, the 39-year-old continues to be highly popular among the Republicans and has been a regular presence at many campaign rallies.
'You look like Ramaswamy'
But how many Republicans would actually recognize Ramaswamy? A YouTuber decided to put this to the test in what can only be described as the most daring prank he ever pulled off.
The YouTuber, who goes by the name Dohaa the Explorer, said he came up with the idea after receiving several comments on his previous videos that he looked like Ramaswamy.
Going to Trump rally, dressed as Ramaswamy
To test this for himself, he flew to Montana for a Trump rally in Bozeman, wearing a suit that resembled Ramaswamy's outfit. Unsurprisingly, a lot of people started noticing him and thought it was Ramaswamy.
While he was apprehensive about being able to enter the venue, to his surprise, Dohaa was given a free pass at the entrance by the staff, who assumed it was Ramaswamy.
Looks give him entry inside the venue
Once inside the venue, the volunteers were more vigilant, and his attempts to get a front-row seat were unsuccessful. Still, Dohaa managed to get himself a seat close to the stage. He started by interviewing some Republican leaders but was soon kicked out by the Secret Service, as he didn't have press credentials.
Dohaa returned to the venue, this time without his camera, and once again made his way inside without any obstructions. Soon people started noticing him, and many mistook him for Ramaswamy, while others asked him if he was, in fact, Ramaswamy.
Selfies with MAGA supporters, leaders
As the rally got underway, Dohaa was flooded with MAGA supporters and leaders who wanted to click selfies with him. While Dohaa achieved almost all the goals he had set for himself, the last one¡ªgetting a selfie with Trump¡ªremained unachieved.
The YouTuber clarified that his video was only for entertainment purposes and that he has no political affiliations, neither with Republicans nor Democrats.
