Aggressive Batsmen, Fierce Bowlers And Energetic Fielders - Shreyas Iyer's DC Are Dominating IPL 2020

We are into the 3rd week of IPL 2020 and guess who has just climbed to the top spot. None other than DC. With 4 wins in 5 games and a tally of 8 points, DC are ruling the roost at the top of the table. But in all honesty, one should not be surprised. Their team is the perfect blend of the kind of balance a side needs to do well in a tournament like this.

Firstly, they have a young skipper Shreyas Iyer at the helm. Last year, under his leadership, they made it to the playoffs. Now they are looking to do one better and possibly clinch the title. Iyer leads by example with his aggressive batting. Not to mention his ability to be a good fielder and encouraging his side out in the middle. When your skipper is showing the way, the others will follow.

DC are blessed with some good batsmen who love to smash it around. We have Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Marcus Stoinis who doubles up as a bowler as well and Shimron Hetmyer. All these guys are known to give the ball a good bash and pace their innings accordingly.

When it comes to fielding, well most of them are brilliant fielders. 8 out of 10 times they tend to stop boundaries or easy singles and that can make the difference at the end of the day. Saving 15-20 runs on the field means you are effectively saving your side from chasing that much extra or saving yourselves the need to score them.

Overall, the team is the perfect combination. Of course, there is a long way to go in the tournament. They have 9 games left and 5 wins assure them a place in the top 4. The way they are going do not be surprised if one sees DC playing their first final on November 10. They could be holding the trophy for all we know. The road ahead is not easy, but they are on the right track.
