'Fraud and choker' trend as Rohit Sharma falls to left-arm bowler again; fans ask him to retire

The fight for the final Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 playoff spot continues, and with just one place up for grabs, two teams ¡ª Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) ¡ª remain in contention. This match at Wankhede Stadium is essentially a virtual knockout, and after winning the toss, DC opted to field first, putting MI in to bat on their home turf.

However, MI didn't get the start they were hoping for, as DC pacer Mustafizur Rahman dismissed Rohit Sharma for just 5 off 5 balls, silencing the Wankhede crowd ¡ª especially on a day when MI was handing out special ¡®Hitman¡¯ jerseys and masks.

Fans unhappy with Rohit Sharma's shot

Soon after the batter hit that shot and wicketkeeper Abishek Porel took that catch, fans flooded X (formerly known as Twitter) with words like 'fraud' and 'choker'. Some even went as far as to tell the 'Hitman' to retire from IPL as well.
