ICC Gives A Sneak-Peak Into The World's Largest Stadium In Ahmedabad
Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium in Ahmedabad will be the world's largest cricket stadium. The stadium will host national and international games once fully functional in addition to an indoor cricket academy. It will break Melbourne Cricket Grounds record of hosting just a shade over 1 lakh people.
In two months from now, India will be home to world's largest cricket stadium once the gates of Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium in Ahmedabad finally open.
As excited as we are, ICC gave more reason for us after sharing a picture of the under-construction stadium, claiming that it can accommodate 110,000 fans. The exhibition match between Asia XI and World XI in March 2020 is likely to be the first match played at the venue.
The stadium will host national and international games once fully functional, in addition to an indoor cricket academy.

According to Populous, the company designing the stadium, ¡°A community academy will be housed under the podium in the stadium, with a dormitory for up to 40 athletes, allowing students from across India and the globe to attend.
Isn't that amazing? The stadium will have all modern amenities and world-class structure.
Apart from being the world¡¯s largest, the stadium will consist of three different kinds of pitches ¡ª from bouncy, spin friendly, or a mix of both ¡ª to suit the need of fast bowlers and spinners.
Moreover, it will have advanced drainage facilities that will flush out rain water in 30 minutes. It means fewer matches will be stalled due to rain.
The Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium will break Melbourne Cricket Ground's record of hosting just a shade over 1 lakh people. Having been build on the same site on which the old Motera was build, the venue will be a landmark
