Meet 5-Year-Old Divyansha Mirchandani, India's Youngest Black Belt In Taekwondo
She took up the sport at the age of 3.
At the age of five, when other girls were playing with dolls and making sand castles, Divyansha Mirchandani was training four hours a day. It's that hard work which has made her the youngest black-belt awardee in Taekwondo in India.
Divyansha, who hails from Jaipur, was three years old when she started practising and has won many state, national and international medals. Her dedication towards the sport made her achieve black belt at this tender age and got her name registered in India Book of Records.
Her aunt Nikita Mirchandani said that she was always interested in action movies. ¡°She is different from girls of her age. She doesn¡¯t grow her hair and hates wearing girly dresses. She is a tomboy. But we are really proud of her achievements. Her dedication has made her achieve all this,¡± said Nikita.

Her interest in sports has not overshadowed her academic performance either. She has been a brilliant student, while being busy winning medals in sports. She stood first in her school and recently won a gold medal in the English Olympiad organised by British Council.
In the Olympiad, around 42,800 schools participated from 1400 cities around the world. Competitors have to answer difficult questions of any level in the Olympiad, and out of thousands of students much older than herself, Divyansha stood first.
Juggling her time between studies and sports is not easy, but she handles everything effortlessly.
When asked about her future plans, Divyansha said that she wants to study law and become a judge. ¡°I have always been interested in becoming a judge and to serve my country. But I am still not sure about the choice to be made between sports and education,¡± said the child prodigy.
