Entering the title clash after a brilliant semifinal win, Kumar overcame Azat.
Earlier, he was trailing 1-8 in the semis vs Azamat Kustubayev fought back to win 12-8. In 2019 he had won silver.
Arjun Halakurki also won a medal for India as he bagged bronze in Greco-Roman 55kg. It was his first medal at his first senior international event.
