Protect Your Google Account: How To Remove Third-Party App Access

A healthy practice on your Android smartphone is to regularly check which third-party apps have access to your Google account. While the ability to sign in via Google is a useful feature that seamlessly lets one log into a plethora of services without creating a separate account, this can create a long list of apps that have access to your Google account.

If you wish to remove third-party app access to your Google account for services you no longer need or use, you can follow these steps.

Remove third-party access to your Google account

1. Head to the My Account page after logging into your Google account on a browser of your choice.

2. Select the Security tab from the left and scroll down down to see "Your connections to third-party apps & services" section. Here, "See all connections."

3. Now, you'll see the total number of apps and services that have access to your Google account. Three corresponding tabs will show you the kind of access available to different apps:

A. Sign in with Google: Apps you're signed into with Google

B. Access to: Apps that can access different Google services

C. Linked account: Services linked to Google account

4. Now click on an any app and service and revoke access by clicking on "See details" followed by "Stop using Sign in with Google button." Press "Confirm" and you're good to go.

You can also follow the same steps to do it on your Android phone by heading to Settings >> Google >> Manage your Google Account >> Security >> Your connections to third-party apps & Services.
