There are a lot of question marks surrounding the security of user's private data on Facebook, in the wake of the Cambridge Analytica revelations from last week. It also forced Mark Zuckerberg to issue a public apology to control some of the damage.
Obviously, Mr Mahindra isn't impressed by all the data privacy storm surrounding Facebook right now. He took to Twitter yesterday evening, wondering if it was time for us to take matters in our own hands -- in a matter of speaking.

Obviously, the 62-year-old Chairman of the Mahindra Group seems very keen on an alternative Indian social media, which does a better job of preserving and protecting user data than Facebook at the moment.
Through his tweet, Anand Mahindra asked if there were any relevant Indian startups working in this space -- building and maintaining social networks. If so, he very much wants to fund such an endeavour with some seed capital.

If you think this is a Twitter rant of yet another disgruntled Facebook user, do it at your own risk. Mr Mahindra has all the right credentials to realize his dream of building a more responsible Facebook alternative.
Under Anand Mahindra's leadership, Tech Mahindra, the Mahindra Group's IT services arm, has become one of the top five software and services exporters in India.
So who wants to build the next Facebook from India? You already have one of India's biggest industrialist as an investor waiting to hear your pitch.
