Apple Just Launched A New iPhone SE: Everything You Need To Know

Much like the leaks touted, Apple has quietly unveiled its newest entry-level smartphone -- iPhone SE 2020 edition. It has kept the SE name for the device as opposed to SE2 or iPhone 9 that the leaks were touting. Here¡¯s everything you need to know about the 2020 iPhone SE.

The popular design

Apple is calling the SE ¡®a powerful new smartphone in a popular design¡¯ which is fancy talk for using the same design as an iPhone 8 that we saw in 2017, which launched alongside iPhone 8 Plus and the game-changing iPhone X. you¡¯ll notice a different trim around the edges, but apart from that, it looks exactly the same.

Same 4.7-inch display

We hated the first generation iPhone SE for the small screen size from the iPhone 5, however, the iPhone SE 2020 brings a 4.7-inch True-Tone panel that¡¯s perfect for single-handed use, but not too small as to impact the viewing experience. The screen also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10 playback.

A13 Bionic under the hood

One of the biggest inclusions is the A13 Bionic CPU that is seen on the latest iPhone 11. This means, not only are the CPUs a ton more powerful, especially on gaming like Apple Arcade, but they¡¯re more power efficient, resulting in better battery performance.

Better camera

The iPhone SE 2020 gets a 12-megapixel shooter at the back along with an f/1.8 aperture that supports portrait effects along with fancy portrait filters. The rear camera is also capable of shooting 4K at 60fps. For selfies, you get a 7-megapixel shooter.

Touch ID and Home button

Did you hate apple taking away the Touch ID and Home button? Well the iPhone SE retains it. You get a similar glass fingerprint scanner with the haptic engine right behind it to make it seem clicky. But along with this you also get the fat forehead and chin that would make the device look dated.

Pricing and availability

2020 iPhone SE will be available in three colours -- Black, White and Product Red and in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage variants. The device starts selling at a price tag of Rs 42,500.
