And while many who can afford the new iPhone are already excited to try out its new features, there are many who continue their yearly tradition of sharing iPhone-kidney jokes on WhatsApp, due to the device¡¯s unaffordable nature in India.

However, a new research by Money Supermarket has now shown how much someone will have to work to be able to afford the base variant iPhone 13 (128GB) based on the minimum wage and the cost of the iPhone in a particular country.
It is no secret that iPhone prices range differently based on where you¡¯re living, and the import duties, tax, currency fluctuations among several other factors that affect the overall cost. And according to this research, for an Indian to afford an iPhone, they¡¯d need to work for 724.2 hours in order to afford an iPhone. This is approximately 30 working days.
Indians are second on this list, with the first place taken by the Philippines, where to own an iPhone, you¡¯d have to work a whopping 775.3 hours.

The lower time due to the fact that not only minimum wage in these nations are higher than India¡¯s or the Philippines, but also the phone is far cheaper with lower import duties/taxes or currency fluctuations that are affecting the end price tag, and making the iPhone more affordable.
