NFTs Are Coming To Instagram, Confirms Meta Chief Mark Zuckerberg
Zuckerberg revealed this at the annual SXSW conference that NFTs will arrive on Instagram in the near term.
In a rather surprising yet predictable move, Mark Zuckerberg has announced that we could soon see NFTs to surface on Meta¡¯s popular image sharing site, Instagram.

Reported first by Engadget, Zuckerberg revealed this at the annual SXSW conference that NFTs will arrive on Instagram in the near term. He hasn¡¯t really revealed how NFTs would be executed but he stated that people would have the ability to show the unique NFTs they own on the platform as well as make new ones.
Zuckerberg said, "I'm not ready to kind of announce exactly what that's going to be today. But over the next several months, the ability to bring some of your NFTs in, hopefully over time be able to mint things within that environment.¡±
Interest in NFTs has been expressed in the past too with the Instagram chief stating that they're ¡®actively exploring¡¯ the technology.

Zuckerberg didn¡¯t miss the opportunity of mentioning the ¡®metaverse¡¯ hot word during his speech, where he said that NFTs could one day play a crucial role in the company¡¯s metaverse switch, ¡°I would hope that you know, the clothing that your avatar is wearing in the metaverse, you know, can be basically minted as an NFT and you can take it between your different places.¡±
He added, ¡°There's like a bunch of technical things that need to get worked out before that'll really be seamless to happen.¡±
