Robotic Kitchen Can Cook 5,000 Dishes From Scratch And Clean Up After Cooking Too
Meet the Automated Kitchen -- an all automated robotic chef that makes its way around the kitchen with the help of sensors and cameras to locate ingredients, cookware, utensils etc.
While cooking food can feel fun and even at times, therapeutic, no one likes to wash the dishes and utensils after eating.
However, what if I told you that now exists a robot that can not only cook the dish you want to eat but also wash everything up when done, without hesitation?
Meet the Automated Kitchen -- an all automated robotic chef that makes its way around the kitchen with the help of sensors and cameras to locate ingredients, cookware, utensils etc.
Special markers on the utensils allow the robot to understand the correct orientation of specific pans, pots and other utensils. The camera on the other hand also constantly tracks spillage of food, only to instantly clean it up and then disinfect with the help of an integrated UV lamp.
Developed by UK-based Moley Robotics, the robot is equipped with two hands that have been designed to function just like the hands of 2011 MasterChef winner, Tim Anderson. Moley Robotics has revealed that the system is capable of making 6,000 standard recipes, with more dishes being updated in its database every month. Moreover, users can add their own recipes to make the delicious delicacy just like you.
Moley Robotics CEO Mark Oleynik said in a statement, ¡°What you are looking at here is the world's first consumer robotic kitchen. Our luxury fully automated smart kitchen is now on sale, and like all breakthrough technologies ¡ª cars, televisions and computers ¡ª it will appeal to enthusiasts, professionals and early adopters, and is priced accordingly. It is not just a labour-saving device ¡ª it is a platform for our creativity. It can even teach us how to become better cooks."
As of now, a fully automated cooking robot with a smart kitchen can cost roughly about 30,000 GBP to 50,000 GBP, (around Rs 30 lakhs to Rs 50 lakhs) depending on the variant one picks, however, Oleynik states that the pricing could go down in the near future, ¡°We anticipate that our pricing will be reduced significantly over time with production volume, efficiencies and economies of scale, whilst simultaneously enhancing additional functionalities of the product.¡±
