Science and technology as a field have always never had enough women's representation, much to its detriment.
However, there are many who have fought along the discrimination and truly stood apart from the crowd. And Google CEO Sundar Pichai shared with us a success story just like that.

This isn't the first time Sundar has been supportive of women in the field of science and technology. A few years ago, a Google employee had sent an internal memo that criticised Google's diversity policy and why women aren't given the same opportunities as men.
After this internal memo got to the outside world, the author of the memo, James Damore was sacked. However, in the following week, while attending a coding event, Sundar Pichai shared with the world how tech as a space is open for all.
He said, "At Google, we are very committed to building products for everyone in the world, and I think to do that well we really need to have people internally who represent the world in totality," he said. "And that's how we think about it. So it's really important that more women and girls have the opportunity to participate in technology, to learn how to code, create, and innovate."
He further added, "I know the journey won't always be easy, but to the girls who dream of being an engineer or an entrepreneur, and who dream of creating amazing things: I want you to know that there's a place for you in this industry, there's a place for you at Google. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You belong here and we need you."
