15.72 Crore Covid Vaccines Administered In India In Last Four Months
Health Ministry Joint Secretary, Lav Agarwal offered data based on the groups via which vaccination drive was carried out in the nation -- healthcare workers, frontline workers, people over the age of 45, and people from the age group of 18-44 years.
Today, the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Health has revealed that as of 3rd May 2021, a total of 15.72 crore doses have been administered in the span of five months from the first time they were announced in January.

Healthcare & Frontline workers
The first to get vaccinated in India were the healthcare and frontline workers. As of now, a total of 1.57 crore healthcare workers have received both doses of the novel coronavirus vaccine. Looking at vaccination for frontline workers, as of now, 2.06 crore of them have received both doses of the vaccine.
People over the age of 45
The next on the list were individuals over the age of 60 as well as people over the age of 45 with comorbidities, followed by people over the age of 45 without comorbidities. As of now, a total of 12.07 crore individuals over the age of 45 years (this includes those over the age of 60 years too) have gotten vaccinated with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

People aged 18 to 44 years
People from the age group of 18 to 44 years were the most recent to be eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations, which commenced on May 1. However, the registration on 28th April showed us how several states are not prepared with appropriate doses of vaccines. Several states warned that the citizens might have to wait longer for them to get the doses.

Despite this, some states were lucky enough to have a few doses at hand. The data reveals that as of 3rd May, 0.02 crore individuals from the age group of 18 to 44 years have received the first dose of the vaccine. That¡¯s an impressive number for just two days.
