Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine Reportedly Caused Headache, Hangovers In Volunteers
Out of the 43,500 people who were part of the vaccine trial have reported side effects similar to a severe hangover moments after the first dose.
While our world is fighting against COVID-19, we¡¯re all desperately waiting for a vaccine to come out and normalise the chaos we¡¯re living in.
Just this week, Pfizer revealed that its vaccine is over 90 percent effective in taking down the novel coronavirus in its late-stage trials.
This surely generated a ton of positivity among people since it meant that we¡¯re almost nearing the end of this dreadful pandemic. However, vaccines do come with their fair share of side-effects, and some volunteers who were the first to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine have revealed that their experience wasn¡¯t so pleasant as they¡¯d expect.
As per reports by the Press Association, out of the 43,500 people who were part of the vaccine trial have reported side effects similar to a severe hangover moments after the first dose.
One trial volunteer, 45-year old Carrie from Missouri said that she experienced severe headache, fever and body pain after her first injection. She said that these effects only got worse after the second shot.
In a vaccine study, some volunteers are offered the real vaccine, while some are offered a placebo. Carrie, however, is of the opinion that she wasn¡¯t given a placebo since she experienced such extreme side effects.
Another, Glen Deshields from Austin Texas said that the side effects felt like one really bad hangover. He even went ahead and got an antibody test done through his doctor and since it came back positive, he was certain that he wasn¡¯t offered a placebo.
He shared what he felt like after taking the vaccine, ¡°My grandfather, one of his first memories was of the bells ringing when World War I ended. It was a horrific war and horrible things happened and people were just happy it was over with. In my mind, I felt the same way... I kind of felt it was something like that. Thank god, it's going to be over at some point.¡±
