'Men smoke cigarettes, Real men smokes cigars and Legends live in Delhi NCR': these are the kind of jokes doing the rounds ever since the air quality level peaked to emergency levels.
Amid all the memes that people have been making to make light of the situation, along come some seriously ridiculous statements made by politicians, yet again.

Now, politicians are giving their two cents about ways to tackle the pollution crisis. Health Minister Harsh Vardhan says that eating carrots would help a body get required nutrients to avoid polluted-related harms to health.
Vardhan tweeted saying, '#EatRightIndia_34 Eating carrots helps the body get Vitamin A, potassium, & antioxidants which protect against night blindness common in India. Carrots also help against other pollution-related harm to health'.
The tweets drew instant backlash, highlighting the growing resentment, and people slammed the government's response to the crisis.

What's the Central government doing to tackle pollution in NCR? Why can't you work out an incentive scheme for farmers to handover the stubble, use it to produce power in summer or in rural areas, work with states for an holistic approach, ban pvt construction Oct-Jan @PMOIndia

Delhi is gasping for breath & Mantriji is pushing hard use of carrots
But the mindless 'pollution solution' didn't stop there, Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar tweeted in the morning, asking Indians to start their day with music.
Sure, Mr Javadekar! That's certainly going to help people breath clean air.

On Saturday, Javadekar accused Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal of 'politicising' air pollution, and claimed that the centre had organised interstate meetings between officials and ministers of North Indian states about the problem.

Mam I think Mr. Jaavdekar was HRD minister earlier. He is in fact suggesting the solution and asking us to listen music and become musician like Baiju Bawra. Play raag Megh and rain will come which will clear the air pollution. Am I right sir @PrakashJavdekar ? pic.twitter.com/DKzld24avx

An Uttar Pradesh minister, Sunil Bharala, meanwhile, noted that farmers have always practiced stubble burning, a major cause of atmospheric pollution as smoke from neighbouring states gathers over the capital. ¡°It¡¯s a natural system,¡± said Bharatala.
The Delhi Chief Minister, who called the city a "gas chamber" on Saturday, has faced attacks from multiple fronts in the past week, with his counterparts in Punjab and Haryana reacting to claims that stubble burning in their states had continued to the crisis in the capital
After Delhi, all schools up to Class 12 were also closed in the National Capital Region (NCR) till November 5 following a spike in the pollution level in the region.
The heavy smog caused a major disruption at Delhi airport as 37 flights were diverted and more than 250 departures and 300 arrivals delayed due to poor visibility, officials said.

In a bid to control the deteriorating air quality in the national capital, Delhi Government's Odd-Even scheme has come into effect from today morning, and will continue till November 15.
The scheme will be applicable from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. It will not be effective on Sunday, November 10.
The odd-even scheme is a traffic rationing measure by Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi Government, under which private vehicles with registration numbers ending with an odd digit (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) will be allowed on roads on odd dates and those with an even digit (0, 2, 4, 6, 8) on even dates.
The rules will also apply to the vehicles with registration numbers of other states.
