14-YO Karanataka Girl Sets World Record, Becomes Fastest Blindfolded Female Skater!
14-year-old Ojal Nalavade from Hubli in Karnataka skated her way into the Guinness Book of World Records and made India proud. She was given three attempts of 60 seconds to set a new record. She is the fastest blindfold skater in the world in the 400-meter category.
While you and I might barely be able to stand steady while wearing skates, there's a teenager who is zipping through the streets of Hubli, blindfolded, like a pro!
14-year-old Ojal Nalavade from Hubli in Karnataka, skated her way into the Guinness Book of World Records and made India proud. A student of JDS High School, Ojal studies in class 7. She was given three attempts of 60 seconds to set a new record.
According to the officials from the Guinness Book of World Records, she is the fastest blindfold skater in the world, in the 400-meter category.

She set the record of fastest blindfolded skating (female) on the recently-developed TenderSURE road in Shirur Park area. People looked on, baffled and amazed by her skill, as Ojal skated with full confidence, despite not being able to see a single thing.
She managed to give a record-breaking performance in under 60 seconds.

Practice has made her perfect, and how!
¡°Skating fast with blindfold is a rarity. She has achieved it with determination and hard work,¡± her coach, Akshay Suryawanshi, told The New Indian Express, adding that she would practice early morning every day with steely determination.
¡°My parents, coach and family were a big support. I shall achieve more with their support in the future,¡± Ojal told the media, expressing her gratitude to everyone
Sunil, her proud father, told TOI that his daughter's love for the sport is only growing by the day and he's moved by her will to achieve greater strides in this field.
This isn't the first big record for Ojal, she's already set eight others, with her feats being being recorded in the Asia Book of Records, India Book of Records.
Ojal Nalavade is a winner in multiple aspects - she's not only doing something unimaginably difficult, she has also made a daring choice with an unconventional sport.
In a country where women are still struggling to make their way into mainstream sports, Ojal has set a precedent by taking up skating and is inspiring a thousand other girls to do the same.
