Abhijeet, a BTech (Information Technology) final year student at Indian Institute of Information and Technology (IIIT), Lucknow, has bagged the highest-ever annual pay package of Rs 1.2 crore at the institute, The Times of India reported.
The Prayagraj native has been hired as a software development engineer for Amazon in Dublin, Ireland.
The institute has broken all previous records during this year's placements. Not only has IIIT-Lucknow succeeded in getting 100% placement, but it has also been able to get their students comparatively higher salary package. This year's average pay package during IIIT-L placement drive was Rs 26 lakh per annum.
As many as 61 students got placed, while four students opted for higher studies.
Earlier in January, a student from Bihar had bagged a job at Google with an annual salary package of Rs 1.10 crore.
Sampreeti Yadav, who hails from the city of Patna, Bihar and will be joined the search engine giant in February.
She hails from Patna¡¯s Nehru Nagar. Her father Ramashankar Yadav is a financial institution officer while her mother Shashi Prabha is an Assistant Director with the Planning and Development division.
Last year in July, a Sonipat farmer's son got a job in Amazon at an annual package of Rs 67 lakh.
Avnish Chhikara had said that he used to study for 10 hours every day after his engineering classes. He had applied for an internship in Amazon during the pandemic at a monthly stipend of Rs 2,40 lakh.
Impressed by his work during the internship, he was offered a package of Rs 67 lakh per annum by the American tech giant. After a year, the package could go as far as Rs 1 crore.
